This was my first wedding of the 2026 season and what an amazing day to kick it off!

As a wedding videographer based in South Wales, I love travelling across the UK to capture meaningful weddings in stunning locations. Emily and James’ celebration over Easter weekend 2026 at The Tythe Barn in Oxfordshire was one of those magical days that stood out for all the right reasons. Filled with springtime beauty, deep-rooted love, and an infectious energy created by their wonderful friends and family.

A Luxury Barn Wedding in the Oxfordshire Countryside

The Tythe Barn, located in the charming village of Launton near Bicester, is an award-winning luxury wedding venue that perfectly combines historic character with contemporary elegance. This exclusive-use estate features a cluster of beautifully restored barns alongside a 17th-century farmhouse, set on a working farm in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside.

With its elegant rural setting, flexible spaces, and warm atmosphere, The Tythe Barn created the ideal backdrop for Emily and James’ spring wedding. The Easter timing added an extra layer of freshness, blooming flowers, Donkeys and sheep out in the fields, soft spring light, and a sense of renewal that mirrored their long-awaited celebration. For couples seeking luxury barn wedding venues in Oxfordshire or the Cotswolds, this venue offers timeless charm and a genuinely fun, welcoming vibe.

An 11-Year Love Story: From Cardiff University to Oxfordshire

Emily and James’ journey together spans an impressive 11 years, beginning when they first met as students at Cardiff University. What started as a university romance blossomed into a strong, supportive partnership built on shared adventures, laughter, and unwavering friendship.

Their long relationship gave their wedding day an extra depth of emotion. You could feel the history and growth in every glance and interaction. The ceremony at The Tythe Barn felt particularly poignant. A beautiful culmination of over a decade of love, celebrated with their closest people in a venue that balanced sophistication with relaxed joy.

As their South Wales wedding videographer, it was incredibly rewarding to document a couple who know each other so well. Their connection felt effortless and genuine, whether during quiet moments in the spring sunshine or surrounded by loved ones.

The Joy Brought by Friends & Family

One of the biggest highlights of filming Emily and James’ wedding was the incredible community of friends and family who made the day so vibrant and heartfelt. After 11 years together, they were surrounded by people who had watched their relationship grow, from university days in Cardiff to this special Easter weekend milestone.

The atmosphere was incredible. The dance floor at The Tythe Barn stayed packed well into the evening, with guests of all ages joining in everything from heartfelt group hugs to spontaneous dance-offs and sing-alongs. Grandparents mixed with university friends, creating beautiful cross-generational moments that were a joy to capture. And the cosy fire snug on the lawn outside was a lovely spot when people needed a break from dancing!

The speeches were particularly moving, with stories of their Cardiff University meeting, shared adventures over the years, and touching tributes that had everyone laughing through tears.

The Tythe Barn’s layout encouraged natural mingling: relaxed conversations in the courtyard, cosy catch-ups in the elegant barn spaces, and joyful reunions across the beautiful grounds. Everyone brought such positive energy and love, turning the celebration into a true reflection of the couple’s warm, inclusive personalities.

Why The Tythe Barn Shines for Spring Weddings

The Tythe Barn is a dream venue for couples wanting a stylish yet approachable day. Its restored barns offer stunning natural light, while the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside and farmhouse provide picturesque spots for portraits especially beautiful during Easter with the fresh spring colours. And the staff were great, making the whole operation seamless.

Whether you're searching for a Cotswolds barn wedding venue, an Oxfordshire luxury wedding location, or a place that feels personal and celebratory, The Tythe Barn delivers beautifully. The exclusive-use policy meant Emily and James and their guests had the entire estate to themselves, creating an intimate, private atmosphere.

“Luke was our wedding videographer during the Easter Weekend in 2026.

Luke is a fantastic videographer, and we could not recommend him enough. The booking process was extremely straightforward and organised, and in the lead up to the wedding we had a pre-wedding call with Luke to discuss the order of the day. Luke took care to detail exactly what we wanted from the day, and the type of footage we wanted him to shoot on the day.

Overall, we were really impressed with how friendly, approachable and nice Luke was at all times. His cinematography style is fantastic, and he was able to seamlessly blend into the background, capturing beautiful shots of all of our friends, family and loved ones with ease and without us even noticing. The final edited film is so brilliant and Luke absolutely nailed the brief and has produced something so perfect that we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Thank you so much Luke!”
